Replacing the Butterfly iQ+ Cable

CAUTION: Refrain from excessively removing and installing a cable, as this will lead to premature wear of the o-ring and enable water and dust ingress.

NOTE: Probe cable swap is only available on the Butterfly iQ+/iQ+ Vet. Attempting to detach the cable on the Butterfly iQ/iQ Vet is not supported and may result to permanent damage to the device.

The Butterfly iQ/iQ Vet cable is not removable and Butterfly iQ+ cables are not intended for use with the Butterfly iQ/iQ Vet. Please be advised that in accordance with the User Manual, no additional device modification is allowed. Removal of the iQ or iQ Vet cable will cause damage to your device and will void your warranty. Modification to the Butterfly iQ or iQ Vet device may cause the system to perform improperly or may cause injury to the patient or operator.

The cable on the Butterfly iQ+/iQ+ Vet probe can be replaced in the case of damage, or when a mobile device with a different connector type needs to be used.

To replace the Butterfly iQ+ cable:

1. Remove the existing cable from the Butterfly iQ+/iQ+ Vet probe. Wrap the probe cable around your palm twice while holding the probe firmly in the other hand. Pull the two apart. Do not use tools to grab the strain relief or the cord, as doing so might damage the cable.

2. Align the connector and the probe prior to installation using the diagram below.mceclip1.png

3. Push the cable firmly into the probe body. When the cable is fully installed, it should be expected that there will be a small gap between the strain relief and the probe body.
