Overview of User Interface
The Butterfly iQ app is designed to be intuitive and easy to navigate. The app is divided into 5 sections, each of which has its own icon on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. From left to right, they are the Archive, Education, the Imaging Interface, Notifications, and Profile.
The Education section contains a video library of ultrasound education taught by experts. Leverage this content when you first start using your new iQ, when you're trying to learn more skills, or looking to explore some of our advanced features.
You can select the blue probe icon from any screen in the app in order to access the scan screen and enter the imaging interface.
The toolbar at the bottom of the imaging interface can be used for preset selection, image freeze, image capture and mode/tool selection.
The imaging interface will always show information about the Mechanical Index (MI) and the Thermal Index (TI) at the top of the screen. To navigate to other sections of the app from the imaging interface, tap the down arrow icon at the top left corner of the screen.
Presets are a predefined set of imaging parameter values. When selected, the Butterfly iQ App automatically operates in accordance with the corresponding set of imaging parameter values. Presets available correspond to the clinical application details in Indications for Use. Preset availability may also vary depending on the probe, Butterfly membership status, and geographic location.
The Butterfly iQ/iQ+ provides M-mode, B-mode, Color Doppler, Power Doppler, and Spectral Pulsed Wave Doppler functionality. Pulsed Wave Doppler is not available in all countries.
The Butterfly iQ/iQ+ lets you perform clinical measurements in each available mode. Measurements available include, but are not limited to: distance, time, area, and heart rate.
