Butterfly iQ gives you the ability to acquire images anywhere without the need to be tied to any specific location or facility wireless network. Butterfly Network’s DICOM Connector provides the ability to automatically forward exams to your preferred medical image archive systems, such as PACS, while also being able to retrieve patient and order details from a DICOM Modality Worklist.
At present, Butterfly relies on existing integration workflows for information exchange between the EHR (e.g. Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, Athena) and the DICOM image archive (PACS or VNA).
Butterfly’s DICOM Connector utilizes TLS 1.2 encrypted connections to automatically send iQ exams to your organization’s image archive system (PACS or VNA). The medical image archive system is typically configured to interface with your EMR/EHR to allow users to access ultrasound studies from the patient record.
The Butterfly Cloud may also be configured so that patient and exam information from a PACS or VNA Modality Worklist syncs with Butterfly iQ; allowing you to quickly select patient information, rather than entering this manually.
Currently, the Butterfly platform only supports imaging acquired with the Butterfly iQ probe, 3rd party ultrasound machines are not supported.
