The Butterfly iQ probe comes with either a Lightning or USB-C connector. Use of our Butterfly iQ app on a compatible mobile device is necessary to use the Butterfly iQ.
The Butterfly iQ app is available on Apple iOS 11.0 or newer. We are not compatible with beta versions of iOS.
All supported iPhones use the Lightning connector cable.

We support devices that have the A9 processor or newer in order to ensure that your imaging experience will suit your clinical needs. As a result, the Butterfly iQ won’t work on the older iPad mini.

Can I use a Lightning-to-USB-C adapter?
Regrettably, adapters are not compatible with our data stream. As a result, adapters are not supported.
Can I use the Butterfly iQ with a computer with a USB-C port, such as the MacBook Pro?
Using the Butterfly iQ requires use of the Butterfly iQ app, which is only available on devices running iOS. As a result, you cannot use a laptop to use the Butterfly iQ.
Does image quality change if I use a different mobile device?
Ultrasound data saved by the Butterfly iQ is the same no matter on what screen it is viewed. Some mobile devices have higher resolutions than others, and therefore the same images might appear slightly different, but the data is the same.
Do you support Android?
Android compatibility is anticipated for late 2019.
We currently sell a Butterfly iQ USB-C version that works with the iPad Pro USB-C models. The USB-C version of the cable will work with select Android devices in the future.
