The Abdomen preset uses harmonic frequencies in a curvilinear format to support the clinical assessment of the size and morphology of abdominal organs, such as the liver, spleen, kidney, and reproductive checks to a depth of 10cm. It is also used for abdominal procedures, such as paracentesis and biopsies.
The Abdomen Deep preset uses the fundamental low frequencies required to provide the depth of penetration necessary for abdominal assessments of up to 30cm. Similar to our Abdomen preset, this curvilinear preset was designed to provide increased penetration in larger animals. It changes frequencies with depth to ensure consistent reliable visualization of up to 30cm.
The Bladder preset has been optimized for the contrast and detail required for bladder assessment. The Field of View (FOV) is expanded to 120 deg to enable broader visualization of the bladder to a depth up to 20cm. This curvilinear preset includes the application of harmonic imaging, which uses resonant characteristics of tissue to produce imaging of higher resolution of the surrounding pelvis. It can also be used for pelvic procedures, such as cystocentesis.
The Cardiac preset employs a high frame rate and applies a sector scan using fundamental frequencies to allow reliable real-time echocardiographic interrogation of cardiac anatomy. This sector imaging preset is reserved for smaller animals for evaluation of the basic parameters suggestive of pressure or volume overload to a depth of 15cm. It can also be used for thoracic procedures, such as pericardiocentesis.
The Cardiac Harmonics preset was designed to provide more contrast with cardiac imaging to qualitatively assess valves with/without color to help identify valve disease using harmonic frequencies. This sector imaging preset is reserved for smaller animals for evaluation of the basic parameters suggestive of pressure or volume overload to a depth of 15cm. It can also be used for thoracic procedures, such as pericardiocentesis.
The Cardiac Deep preset has been designed with parameters best for imaging of the fast-moving dynamics of the heart in larger animals. It employs a high frame rate and applies a sector imaging format utilizing lower fundamental frequencies which allows reliable real-time echocardiographic interrogation up to 25cm. Multiple parameters have been changed to adjust for this use case, such as using blended frequencies, to provide diagnostic quality echocardiography in patients needing more penetration.
Cardiac Deep Harmonics
The Cardiac Deep Harmonics preset is similar to the Cardiac Deep preset. This preset was designed to provide more contrast with cardiac imaging for larger animals needing more penetration. It employs a high frame rate and applies a sector imaging format utilizing lower harmonic frequencies which allows reliable real-time echocardiographic interrogation up to 25cm.
The Lung preset is optimized to support imaging of lung pathology for animals in respiratory distress. In the very near field, a high-frequency polar imaging format is optimized for the visualization of lung sliding. As the depth changes, maximum of 15cm, so too does the image format and frequency range in order to support deeper interrogation for A or B Lines. It can also be used for thoracic procedures, such as thoracentesis.
The Musculoskeletal preset applies linear imaging parameters to display the fine balance of temporal, detail and contrast resolution required for high-frequency musculoskeletal exams and ultrasound-guided injections, including regional nerve blocks. This includes high-resolution imaging of muscles, tendons, nerves, ligaments, and bursae up to a max depth of 8cm.
The Musculoskeletal Equine preset has been designed to be used with a stand-off pad and has increased contrast resolution for a crisp visualization of the structures of interest via post-processing capabilities. Moreover, instead of a single focus and transmit frequency for the whole field of view, this linear imaging preset divides the field of view into two parts at ≥ 5cm. A closer focus and higher frequency are applied in the near field with a maximum depth of 6cm in a linear format
The Small Organ preset has been optimized to support the demonstration of soft tissue structures in the small parts anatomical category, such as the adrenals, bowel, and small animal pregnancy checks. Focus has been made specifically to detail superficial resolution and vascular sensitivity in a linear imaging format up to a maximum depth of 8cm. It can also be used for ultrasound guided procedures, such as FNAs and biopsies.
The Vascular preset optimizes the image for top visualization of vascular structures, with a specific focus on peripheral arteries and veins in a linear imaging format up to maximum depth of 8cm in a linear imaging format. It maximizes contrast resolution to provide a crisp demonstration of vascular borders and needle guidance for vascular access.
