Device Security
The Butterfly iQ mobile app is available on the Apple Store or Google Play Store for the supported mobile devices. A device lock (i.e. pin, password, fingerprint, etc.) must be enabled on the mobile device to log into the Butterfly iQ app. Removing the device lock will result in the user being automatically logged out of the Butterfly app, which will permanently delete any iQ data that has not been uploaded to Butterfly Cloud. The user will be unable to log back in to the Butterfly mobile app until a device lock has been re-enabled.
The Butterfly iQ mobile app requires access to the internet at least once every 30 days to validate the user account, check for updates, and perform iQ health status checks.
Data Encryption
All data at rest is protected by 256-bit AES encryption, this includes any data temporarily cached within the Butterfly iQ App.
Data in transit is encrypted as follows:
- Data between iQ App and Butterfly Cloud: HTTPS (TLS 1.2)
- Data between client browser and Butterfly Cloud: HTTPS (TLS 1.2)
- Data between Butterfly Cloud and Customer DICOM end-points: DICOM-TLS (using TLS 1.2)
