Overview
The Quality Assurance (QA) Agent is designed to make ultrasound study QA faster and more reliable. By combining agentic AI with computer vision, it helps QA reviewers (QAers) quickly assess study quality and streamline feedback workflows.

Key Features
1. Automated Quality Scoring
Each image in a study is automatically scored from 1 to 5, based on ACEP (American College of Emergency Physicians) guidelines.
- This provides an at-a-glance view of overall study quality before manual review begins.
- Helps QAers prioritize studies and spot potential issues faster.
2. Intelligent Cine Highlighting
- The system uses computer vision to find and highlight the most relevant part of each cine loop.
- This ensures reviewers can jump directly to the most informative frames, saving valuable time and reducing reviewer fatigue.
3. AI-Enhanced Feedback
- QAers can dictate their feedback via voice instead of typing.
- The text can be polished by Compass AI, making it more readable, professional, and clear for learners and clinicians.
- This ensures feedback is not only faster to provide but also more consistent across reviewers.
- Works with Standard QA cards only.
Limitations
To ensure accurate performance, there are some current limitations:
- Presets Supported: Currently available for B-Mode images across:
- Cardiac (Views Supported: A4C, PLAX, PSAX, SUBX)
- Lung (Views Supported: A-Lines / B-Lines)
- eFAST (Views Supported: Lung, Upper Quadrants, PLAX, SUBX, Pelvis)
- Devices Supported: Works only with images from Butterfly iQ3 and iQ+ (other ultrasound devices not yet supported).
- Scope: Quality scoring is based strictly on image characteristics and cannot replace human judgment for full clinical interpretation.
