The Exam Type feature allows you to tag, track and organize your exams by type in Butterfly.

Setting Up Exam Types
- Log in to Butterfly on desktop. Once logged in, click your avatar in the upper right hand corner of the screen to access Organization Settings.
- In the Organization Settings menu, select Exam Types.
- From here, you will see a list of Exam types that are available for you to add to exams. You can choose to disable exam types by clicking on the 3 dots to the right of the exam type and choosing “Disable”.
Assigning Exam Types via the Butterfly App
- Exam types can be added when saving new studies and to any draft study.
- Find the “Exam Type” section of study details, and tap the “+ Add” button.
- Select one or multiple exam types, then tap “Done” to assign to your study.
- You can also use the search bar to easily find the exam type you’re looking for.

- Log in to Butterfly on desktop (you must have Administrative privileges to configure this feature). Once logged in, click your avatar in the upper right hand corner of the screen to access Enterprise Settings.
- In the Enterprise Settings menu, select Exam Types.
- From here, you will see a list of Exam Types that are available for your users to add to exams. You can choose to enable or hide Butterfly-recommended exam types by clicking on the 3 dots to the right of the exam type and choosing “Disable”.
- Administrators can also create their own custom exam types by typing in the new exam type and hitting “+ Add” at the top of the page.

Configuring Auto Assignment of Exam Types
- In the Enterprise Setting menu, select “Worksheets”.
- From here, press the “+ Add” button at the top right of your screen to configure on a new worksheet or select “Edit” to configure on an existing worksheet.
- Fill in the Exam Type(s) you’d like associated with this worksheet.
- Check off the box “Apply all exam types to study” so that all exam types listed will be automatically added to a study when a user adds that worksheet to an exam. If you leave this box unchecked, these exam types will be suggested to the end user at the time of adding the worksheet.
Not all presets and imaging modes are available everywhere. Check for the availability in your country.
